Dear Mr. President…

It really bites me that I have to use the term “President” in conjunction with your name, so therefore, you know who you are, and will remain nameless.

Ob, by the way, everybody else knows your name, too.

You’ve, no doubt, been keeping an eye on what is happening in Egypt. It really shouldn’t surprise you that you had some cause and effect on what is happening there; what with all your galavanting all over the world as the Apologizer in Chief.

Indeed, the events in Egypt certainly seem momentous. I’m never one short on amazement at how populations can “simmer” for years with discontent, and then all of a sudden boil over in a fit of smashed glass, overturned vehicles, and fires in the streets and burning buildings. If you don’t pull your head out of your ass soon, you’ll see the same shit taking place here.

It is all to often, and all too true that when people and police start running at each other, “shit happens.” If you consider all events leading up to this debacle of your foreign policy — and that of your Secretary of Despair, the Hildebeast — people, in general, are fairly patient creatures. They will endure years of low employment, weakened living conditions, and limited hope precisely because most citizens in most places realize that uprisings can be messy. Property gets destroyed, people get hurt, pets get lost, and it’s hard to figure out where things will stand when the smoke clears.

Again, if you don’t pull your head out of your Marxist ass, you’re going to have the same shit on your hands that your pal Hosni has on his.

Still, when people are frustrated long enough, and feel too marginalized, they start imagining (or perhaps realizing) that they have no other choice. What makes us in the U.S. unique, is that it was the same mindset of our Founding Fathers. Go back and read your Declaration of Independence and our Constitution.

It’s impossible to predict when some place is going to erupt into rioting and calls for a coup start blaring like a clarion. It’s hard to pinpoint a date, but often in retrospect it’s easy to see how tensions rose, were ignored; rose higher, were pushed aside; rose still more…and finally exploded.

Sounds like a lot of what we’ve been tolerating over the last 6 or 8 years, because We The People feel the same way the Egyptians do.

The secret to clearing up your scatalogical myopia is to see things not only through the eyes of the rulers, but also through the eyes of the ruled. The second is harder, because the ruled don’t sit in high level diplomatic meetings like you do, or brief visiting dignitaries. The ruled also don’t go wagging their fingers in the faces of foreign (and sovereign) rulers and dignitaries like you do your own people.

Trust me: people just won’t tolerate that shit for very long.

But understanding the views of the citizenry isn’t enough: taking them seriously and following THEIR wishes is how uprisings are avoided. Remember: YOU work for US, not the other way around.

Ignore your people and keep your head up your ass like the proverbial ostrich with his head in the sand, and that’s when shit happens. Revolutions are sparked, and somebody kicks the leaders in the ass and rulers further increase their brain damage.

Good luck with digging yourself out of this foreign policy debacle: you’ve made Jimmy Carter look intelligent.
